Apple Delays Siri Overhaul, Tests Google Gemini AI

Apple may partner with Google to power its revamped Siri using Gemini AI, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The Siri update, featuring an AI-based search tool, has been delayed until 2026 as Apple works to strengthen its AI efforts against rivals.

The report says Apple and Google have signed a deal allowing Siri to test Gemini. If successful, the integration may also appear in Safari and Spotlight.

For years, Spotlight positioned itself as a lightweight search tool that gave users quick answers without turning to Google. But as AI platforms advance, Apple faces renewed competition.

The redesigned Siri will reportedly combine multimedia content, summarization features, and localized information. It may also personalize results using user data and expand voice navigation options.
