Google’s AI Mode expands globally, adds new agentic features

Google is extending AI Mode far beyond its initial test markets, announcing availability in 180 new countries in English. Until now, the feature was only offered in the U.S., U.K., and India. More languages are expected soon.
AI Mode’s new agent-like skills include booking dinner reservations by analyzing user criteria such as cuisine type, time, date, and guest count. It then compares availability across platforms to present tailored results.
The launch also adds a personalization layer, where AI Mode considers prior user activity in Search and Maps to refine dining suggestions. For instance, fans of Italian food with a preference for outdoor seating will see options that match these habits.
Currently, the new functions are part of an experimental rollout to U.S.-based subscribers of Google AI Ultra, the top-tier $249.99 plan. Users can also now share responses directly with others, making AI Mode more collaborative for planning.
