Here are Apple’s top AI announcements from WWDC 2025

Apple’s 2023 WWDC keynote was dominated by announcements about artificial intelligence. This year, the focus shifted. The 2024 keynote placed less emphasis on Apple Intelligence and more on enhancements to operating systems, services, and software, while unveiling a fresh “Liquid Glass” design language and an updated naming strategy.

Despite the pivot, AI was still part of the conversation, with new tools including an image recognition feature, an AI workout coach, and live translation capabilities.

Visual Intelligence
Apple’s Visual Intelligence applies AI to identify and provide context about objects, locations, and apparel. The latest version adds the ability to work directly with on-screen content. For example, while viewing a social media post, users can launch an image search powered by Google Search, ChatGPT, and similar services. It will be accessible via the Control Center or a customized Action button, launching with iOS 26 later this year.

Workout Buddy
Workout Buddy is Apple’s AI-based training companion. Using text-to-speech, it delivers motivational feedback during workouts, calling out achievements like fastest mile times and providing average heart rate data.

Live Translation
Powered by Apple Intelligence, Live Translation offers real-time translation for both text and speech in Messages, FaceTime, and phone calls, enabling seamless communication across different languages.
