Warp Code Enhances Developer Control Over AI-Generated Code
Warp has announced Warp Code, a new feature set that aims to make AI coding agents more transparent and interactive. The feature is designed to resemble pair programming, enabling developers to track changes, review diffs, and adjust code collaboratively in real time.
The interface retains Warp’s familiar setup, with a command input, AI response window, and a panel showing incremental edits. Users can edit code directly, highlight important lines, and rely on the compiler to auto-resolve errors. Founder Zach Lloyd said the goal is to give developers control, ensuring they refine AI output instead of accepting it blindly.
The release comes in a crowded market, with competitors like Cursor, Windsurf, Lovable, and command-line tools from Anthropic and OpenAI. Warp relies on those models but sets itself apart by prioritizing clarity and collaboration. The company reports fast growth, with 600,000 active users and $1 million in recurring revenue added every 10 days.
